Lights.com—Lamps
If you enjoy reading, then you've probably spent your fair share of time in front of a lot of different lamps in your lifetime. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to reading lamps because I don't like them to give off too much light or it ends up hurting my eyes. When I read, I tend to turn the lamp away from me so that it's not right in my face.
If you have a son or daughter who is on the way to college, you should think about a type of lamp he or she will need. If your daughter is moving into her own apartment, she will need a variety of lamps for her desk and room. A nice desk lamp will help her study at all hours of the night and not disturb the people around her because the light is concentrated in one specific area.
Living Room Lamps
A lamp in the living room serves a different purpose than merely giving off light in one specific area. You want your lamp to light up the whole room as evenly as possible, and you want to be able to do that with just one or two lamps. That way, you can save outlets for different things, such as your TV and electronics equipment.
A decorative lamp that has a dimmer on it would set the perfect mood for a dinner party or a romantic evening. Depending on your style you can also get decorative or uniquely shaped lamps. Lamps can be used just about anywhere and the sky is the limit, just as long as your budget supports your imagination.
